EyeTriggerDevice

A head-mounted switch device that operates external equipment through eye movement. Designed as open-source hardware (OSHW) buildable with 3D printers. Winner of the 2025 Good Design Award.

Concept Design

Telemedicine Devices

In the field of telemedicine, we designed and developed, based on prior research, a device that enables remote auscultation between patients and physicians beyond physical distance. This device was designed with a strong emphasis on usability and intuitive operation, supporting remote auscultation and the measurement of biometric data. Building upon existing research, we created a conceptual design that aims to balance user experience (UX: User Experience) and functional performance. A prototype was developed, followed by testing to evaluate operability and practical usability in real clinical environments. This telemedicine device aims to enable effective delivery of medical services even in situations where patients and healthcare professionals cannot meet face-to-face. Robot-Assisted Suit for BMI Rehabilitation

We designed and developed an assistive suit utilizing BMI (Brain-machine Interface) technology to support upper limb rehabilitation for patients with hemiplegia. This suit is equipped with a system that reads brain signals and uses robotic assistance to aid the patient’s arm movements accordingly. In the product design phase, we focused on creating a design that is easy for patients to wear and allows for natural movement. Afterward, we developed a prototype and conducted tests to evaluate its functionality, comfort, and actual effectiveness in rehabilitation. This assistive suit aims to accelerate patient recovery by supporting the relearning of fine motor skills, which are often challenging with traditional rehabilitation methods. By leveraging the brain's plasticity, it enables more effective rehabilitation.

Branding

CBMI2015

I rebranded a Brain-Machine Interface conference, focusing on a design that makes it immediately clear to anyone that it involves the brain and machines. By using cute colors, I added a sense of approachability. When these design elements were developed into sub-graphics, they took on a picture book-like quality, adding both interest and charm.

2014

Concept Design

SNR2014

I was responsible for branding the System Neuroscience and Rehabilitation Research Society. The graphics were created with motifs of the brain, nerves, and hands. For the sub-graphic elements, I zoomed in on the neural part of the logo to highlight the connection between the brain and peripheral systems, effectively conveying the society's focus on this relationship through the design.
